Colonel Lee R. Roper is not just a great marketing leader; he is also the largest land developer in the state of Texas, and is one of the greatest success stories in American history!

From The Battlefield to The Home Front – Colonel Lee Roper is One of America's Greatest Success Stories.

Christmas dinner party at the White House.

He remembers the first time he laid eyes on the Texas Hill Country; it was more than 20 years ago. A friend persuaded Roper to fly in and look at a 3,400 acre ranch for sale on Canyon Lake. The timing couldn't have been worse. The deadline for a deal was fast approaching and viewing conditions were far from ideal. It was a dreary, overcast day; but through the drizzle and fog, Roper could see the potential of the property. He purchased the land and named it Rancho del Lago. It was the first of dozens of his successful projects. Within the next two decades, this Hill Country newcomer would become one of the most prolific developers of the region.

Lee Roper has known hard times and hard work as a child of the great depression.

He grew up on a small farm in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina, where his father raised cattle and his mother taught school. Through his work on the family farm, young Roper become involved in agricultural activities, participating in 4H programs and the Future Farmers of America. His interest in the field continued at North Carolina State University, where Roper earned a degree in animal industry. Upon graduating, he took a job with a farming operation in Raleigh, North Carolina.

"I certainly learned one thing in four years of animal industry," he recalls. "It could be a lot of fun and a lot of pleasure, but if you want to make any money, you better do something else!"

Roper, a former member of the college of R.O.T.C. (Reserve Officers' Training Corps), and was commissioned as a U.S.A Army officer in 1950 and served two years in Korea. He remained in the Army for 24 years, earning an assignment from the U.S.A Pentagon and commanded a combat battalion in the Vietnam War. He retired from the Army in 1973 with the rank of Colonel. Roper looks back on his years in the Army with pride. In fact, among respectful friends and colleagues, he's widely known as Colonel Lee R. Roper to this day. Reflecting on his decision to retire from the military, Roper recalls his accomplishments and says he has no regrets.

"I had a great career in the Army," he explains, "I got to do about everything I wanted to do."

Along with Network Marketing, Real Estate has always been a passion for Roper, and is also one of his greatest professional successes. He built apartment complexes in El Paso, Midland, and Odessa before setting his sights on San Antonio, Canyon Lake and the Hill Country. In 1968, he formed Rinco of Texas, a highly successful company ultimately responsible for developing over 30 major properties across the Hill Country.

"We've developed and sold more than 6,000 tracts of land in the last 20 years," he says. "I don't think anybody else has done that."

Outside of Vollara, Roper's "hobby projects" now include real estate subdivisions in Comal, Blanco and Bexar Counties, with tracts ranging in cost from $10,000 to $100,000. However, Roper believes in offering families affordable options, focusing on location instead of luxurious frills.

Roper has never been afraid to buck the trends and believes that along with his real estate projects, Vollara is on track to becoming one of the greatest worldwide success stories that the Network Marketing Industry has ever seen.

Colonel Roper and his wife Lisa are very active politically and were even invited to attend the Presidential inauguration of George W. Bush.

The couple also believes in sharing their good fortune. Favorite charities include a scholarship program and a school for the deaf.

"We have been blessed." Roper says, "And we're now focused on helping other people."

He has been a rancher, a soldier, and an entrepreneur. Colonel Roper is one of the original founders of Vollara and after spending decades in the service of his country, this business man is determined to help take Vollara’s great products and opportunity across the globe.

For those who wish to emulate his accomplishments, Roper advises fairness, honesty and a positive outlook on life. He freely shares the secret of his success. "I have a philosophy that everything that you do should be enjoyable and profitable," he says with a smile. "And if you can't do both, just be a heck of a lot of one of them!"

It is a great honor to have Colonel Lee R. Roper as a member of Vollara's Special Advisory Board.
